Frequently asked questions
- Regálalo is a community where you can give away objects you no longer use and receive what others offer, all without money. The more you participate and contribute, the easier it is to be chosen when you request something. It's not about what's in your wallet, but what you give back.
- You post items you want to give away, request items near you (up to 3 per month), and the donor chooses who to give them to — usually prioritising whoever has contributed most to the community and lives closest. Handoffs happen in person.
- Yes. There are no prices or financial transactions. You only need an email and postal code to join.
- Regálalo is available throughout Spain. Items are distributed within a 50 km radius, so anyone with a Spanish postal code can participate.
- Regálalo has no money. You cannot sell or buy: only give and receive. Unlike other platforms where price is everything, here what determines who gets an item is how much you've contributed to the community, not what you're willing to pay.
- Every time you hand something over or confirm a pick-up, the community gets to know you a little better. The more you give, the more visible you are and the easier it is for donors to choose you when you request something. If you commit to picking up an item and don't show up, points are deducted: −10 the first time, −20 the second, and −30 the third. Completing a handoff resets the counter. If you keep requesting without donating for months, your candidacy will appear lower — or stop showing to donors — until you complete a donation.
- Yes. The donor's contact details are only shared once the handoff is confirmed, and are automatically deleted after 7 days. Before that point, no one sees the other person's personal information. There is no internal messaging: the agreement is finalised at the moment of the handoff.
- You can request up to 3 items per month. There is no monthly limit for publishing items to give away.
